Product Overview

HM-GSG is intended for trace-level soluble silicate measurement in water-quality workflows. The source specification identifies desalinated water, steam condensate and boiler water as applicable sample types, with use described across power, chemical and fertilizer, metallurgy, environmental protection, pharmaceutical, chemical fiber and semiconductor settings.

Measurement Principle

At pH 1.1–1.3, soluble silicon reacts with ammonium molybdate to form a yellow silicon-molybdenum complex. Ferrous ammonium sulfate reduces it to silicon-molybdenum blue. Photoelectric colorimetric measurement of absorbance is used to determine silicon content. The design references GB/T 12149-2017 for silicon determination in industrial circulating cooling water and boiler water.

Application Considerations

  • Use the 0–200 μg/L range for trace silicate measurement calculated as SiO₂.

  • The water sample specified for measurement is 20–35°C; confirm sample preparation and matrix suitability for the intended procedure.

  • Automatic peristaltic-pump injection supports continuous multi-sample flow testing without manual addition.
