In the field of water quality monitoring, COD tester is a key device for evaluating the degree of organic pollution in water bodies. Chemical oxygen demand (COD), as an important indicator for measuring the pollution of water bodies by reducing substances, directly reflects the pollution status of water bodies.
Basic principle of COD tester
COD tester uses rapid digestion spectrophotometry to determine the chemical oxygen demand of water samples. Its working principle is based on the characteristics of strong oxidants oxidizing organic matter in water under high temperature conditions. The instrument measures the amount of oxidant consumed in the oxidation process and converts it into the equivalent of oxygen consumption to determine the COD value.
The COD tester is equipped with a dual-temperature zone digestion system and can process multiple samples at the same time. After digestion, the instrument measures the absorbance of the sample at a specific wavelength (usually 620nm) through fiber optic detection technology and imported light sources, and automatically calculates the COD concentration. The 8-inch high-definition touch screen will intuitively display the test results and support data storage and export to meet the detection needs of different users.
Technical advantages of COD tester
COD tester has many technical innovations. It adopts Android 7.1.1 smart operating system, and the operation interface is friendly and smooth, which greatly improves the user experience. The 360° precision rotating colorimetric device ensures the stability of the detection process and improves the measurement accuracy. The dual colorimetric detection system supports two modes, test tube and cuvette, to adapt to sample detection in different concentration ranges.
Portability is another highlight. The integrated design with a large-capacity lithium battery allows the instrument to be easily taken to outdoor field testing. The built-in dual-temperature zone 8-hole digester can independently control the left and right temperature zones to achieve rapid digestion of COD, total phosphorus, total nitrogen and other items. The thermal printer supports instant printing of test reports and can even generate a QR code containing complete test information for easy data traceability and management. These functions make the COD tester a powerful assistant for water quality monitoring.
Application scenarios of COD tester
COD testers are widely used in various fields of water quality monitoring. In sewage treatment plants, it is used to monitor the treatment effect of influent and effluent water; in environmental monitoring stations, it helps assess the pollution status of surface water and groundwater; in industrial enterprises, it ensures that wastewater discharge meets environmental standards.
